By statute, the County Comptroller also serves as Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC).  The Clerk’s Office prepares meeting minutes and integrates BCC records online to provide citizens access to meeting minutes, documentation and media in a searchable format.

The Clerk’s Office is responsible for scheduling public hearings before the Commissioners.  Scheduling includes preparation and publication of legal notices, providing notice to other impacted or interested parties, and notification of the outcome.

As Clerk of the BCC, the Clerk also oversees the Value Adjustment Board (VAB) process, serving as Clerk to the elected and appointed members of the VAB and distributing information to Orange County property owners and the Property Appraisers Office. For helpful information about the VAB, review the “Clerk of the VAB” page on the toolbar shown on the top of the Comptroller’s webpage.

The Clerk’s Office issued its Annual Clerk of the Board Report for the year ended September 30, 2019. The report highlights department achievements, describes efficiencies achieved through software applications and contains a collection of statistics and illustrations representing BCC and VAB related activities.
